AOL Debuts When.com Hyper-Local Online Event Guide

New York - Time Warner's (NYSE: TWX) AOL on Monday announced the launch of When.com, a hyper-local online event guide. The service, powered by local search engine Zvents, will include listings for family activities, community events, live performances, sporting and other events. The site will be monetized via ad packages sold through AOL's Platform-A digital ad division.

Zvents Lands $24 Million for Local Search, Ad Network

San Mateo, Calif. - Zvents, the provider of local search engine and paid listings ad network, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $24 million in additional funding from new investors including Nokia Growth Partners, NAVTEQ and AT&T.

mtvU Debuts Online Campus Daily Guides

New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) mtvU on Tuesday announced the launch of mtvU Campus Daily Guides, an online resource for local events, restaurants and other areas of interest on 25 U.S. college campuses. Powered by Zvents, the guides will aggregate local content from over 250 sources, and also feature headlines from mtvU's College Media Network and ratings from RateMyProfessors.com. Users and local performers will also be able to add and promote their own events and activities.

Local Events Search Firm Zvents Raises $7 Million in First Round
