Seattle - Amazon.com (NASD: AMZN) announced on Monday that it has made its Kindle for iPhone e-book reading application available from the Apple App Store in more than 60 new countries. The free application allows iPhone owners to purchase and download e-books to read in full color on their smartphones.

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple (NASD: AAPL) has booted a China-based iPhone application developer and 1,000 of its applications from its iTunes App Store, reportedly for gaming the service's user reviews feature, Wired.com reports. The blog iPhoneography investigated Molinker's reviews and found that a few users, who reviewed mainly Molinker's applications, were giving them five-star reviews and propelling the applications higher among all applications' ratings.

AT&T iPhone App Lets Users Report Poor Service Coverage

San Francisco - U.S. Apple (NASD: AAPL) iPhone network partner AT&T (NYSE: T) has released an iPhone application that lets owners of the smartphone sound off about poor service coverage and call quality. "Mark the Spot" uses the iPhone's GPS to pinpoint the location where a user experiences a dropped call, inferior call quality or no service coverage. The carrier is also reportedly testing a version of the application for other mobile devices that use its 3G network.

The Eucalyptus application was reportedly banned because of its ability to download the Kama Sutra, which was deemed "pornographic." Reports: Apple May Add "Premium" iPhone App Store, Copy/Paste

San Francisco - Apple may introduce a "premium" App Store for its iPhone and iPod touch next week, as a separate retail area for game publishers and other developers who charge more than $1 for their wares, according to "rumors" heard by Wired.com. The App Store recently passed 15,000 available applications, most available for free or 99 cents. Meanwhile, Silicon Alley Insider cited blogger John Gruber, who said he's heard that the long-desired copy-and-paste functionality for iPhone will be "a big part of tomorrow's announcement" from Apple.

Report: T-Mobile USA to Introduce Open Platform for App Makers

Bellevue, Wash. - Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA (NYSE: DT) plans in the fall to launch a platform similar to Apple's App Store for the iPhone, which will allow almost any developer to create applications for all of the carrier's handset line, MocoNews reported, citing multiple unnamed sources.

Apple: 60 Million iPhone Apps Downloaded in First Month

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple (NASD: AAPL) has served up more than 60 million applications for the iPhone and iPod touch since the company opened its App Store a month ago, netting the company about $30 million, or an average of $1 million a day, chief executive Steve Jobs told The Wall Street Journal. "This thing's going to crest a half a billion soon. Who knows, maybe it will be a $1 billion marketplace at some point in time," Jobs said.

At the current rate, the company is on track to see $360 million in annual App Store sales.

"iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend. It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple's (NASD: AAPL) long-awaited iPhone 2.0 software became available on Thursday when the company released the latest version of its iTunes software (7.7), in a surprise that allowed iPhone owners to start browsing the over 550 applications available in the new App Store a day early, Macrumors reported. Among the applications that are now available for current-generation iPhone owners are lots of games, a voice recorder, e-books, price comparisons, versions of social networks including Facebook, MySpace, Loopt, Limbo and Shozu, and media applications such as Pandora Radio.

Apple iPhone 3G to Sell for $199/$299 From July 11

San Francisco - As expected, Apple (NASD: AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs on Monday unveiled the new iPhone 3G, which he says is "twice as fast" as the first-generation model and will sell in the U.S. for $199 (8GB) or $299 (16GB) beginning on July 11. Apple also introduced iPhone 2.0 software, also to release on July 11, which will include support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, over-the-air push e-mail, remote wipe and Cisco IPsec VPN for encrypted access to corporate networks.
