Digital Media Association Head Jon Potter Resigns

Washington - Jonathan Potter has resigned as executive director of the Digital Media Association (DiMA), a trade group representing the interests of larger webcasters and technology firms that he founded in 1998. "I am grateful to DiMA's member companies for allowing me to serve them -- and their innovative technologies and services and their passionate people -- for so long and in so many exciting ways. I hope that my next adventure is as challenging and rewarding," said Potter. DiMA general counsel Lee Knife will serve as interim executive director while the organization searches for a replacement.

TIME's Josh Tyrangiel Named Editor of BusinessWeek

New York - Bloomberg announced on Tuesday that it has hired Josh Tyrangiel to be editor of its newly-acquired BusinessWeek magazine. Tyrangiel is currently deputy managing editor of TIME magazine and managing editor of TIME.com.

Washington Times Editor Resigns Amid Management Shakeup

Washington - Less than a week after cleaning house in its executive ranks, The Washington Times confirmed on Friday that John Solomon has resigned as its executive editor. Solomon, who had held the post since Jan. 2008, formally tendered his resignation on Nov. 6. The news caps a chaotic week at the conservative publication, which on Sunday fired Thomas McDevitt, its president and publisher, as well as CFO Keith Cooperrider and Chairman Dong Moon Joo. The Washington Times was launched in 1982 by Rev. Sun Myung Moon, and is subsidized by businesses related to Moon's Unification Church.

AOL Names Susan Lyne to New Board of Directors

New York - Nearly two weeks after unveiling its new board of directors, AOL on Friday announced one new member. The company, which expects to complete its spin out from parent Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) by the end of this year, named Susan Lyne, the CEO of online luxury retailer Gilt Groupe, as the board's tenth member. Lyne also has served as the president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and previously served in various positions at Walt Disney Company, rising to president of ABC Entertainment. Chaired by CEO Tim Armstrong, the board also will include Michael Powell, Fredric Reynolds, James Wiatt, Richard Dalzell, Karen Dykstra, William Hambrecht, Patricia Mitchell and James Stengel.

Consumer Electronics Assn. Names New Executive Board

Arlington, Va. - The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) on Thursday announced its 2010 executive board, which will continue to be chaired by Gary Yacoubian, the vice president of strategic development for Monster Cable Products. Other members include Brian Dunn, the CEO of Best Buy; Denise Gibson, the chairman, of Brightstar U.S.; Stan Glasgow, the president and COO of Sony Electronics; Ian Hendler, the director of business development at Leviton Manufacturing; and Mark Luden, the president and CEO of The Guitammer Co.

YouTube Head of Content Partnerships Steps Down

San Bruno, Calif. - Google's YouTube has lost its head of content partnerships, as Jordan Hoffner has left to joint a new content venture at IAC headed up by Ben Silverman, PaidContent reported. Hoffner will be replaced at YouTube by Chris Maxcy, who was leading YouTube's music content partnership efforts.

Report: Doug Morris to Step Down as Universal Music CEO

CEO Resigns from Touch Feedback Developer Immersion

San Jose, Calif. - Immersion, a developer of touch feedback technology often used in video game controllers and other devices, said on Wednesday that Clent Richardson has resigned as its CEO to pursue other interests. The company's board has named Victor Viegas, Immersion's former CEO and a current director, to serve as interim CEO. "We would like to thank Clent for his service to Immersion and wish him well in his future endeavors," said Chairman Jack Saltich. Richardson joined Immersion in April 2008, after having served as the chief marketing officer at Alviso-based TiVo and Nortel Networks.
